The NewSkin 4th and final Open Call is open to non-consortium academic partners, SMEs, startups and industry. We can provide up to €60K (possibly higher in consortium projects) in nano-enabled surfaces and membranes market acceleration services funded entirely by H2020 NewSkin project with no financial contribution necessary from you (your benefit).

Discover some interesting technologies applicable to ceramics and glass: presentations of Tomas Kubart from the Uppsala University (Sweden) and Girolamo Mincuzzi from ALPHANOV (France).

The Ångström Laboratory of the University of Uppsala is working on the upscaling of the HiPIMS technology for metal and oxide thin films in the framework of the NewSkin project. Applications are possible for small scale surfaces of different materials such as metals, ceramics, glasses or polymers. In addition, the HiPIMS technology of the laboratory can be used on large scale surfaces in the form of foils. Depending on the coating material, the technology can provide various functionalities to the surface such as anti-sticking, self-cleaning, anti-corrosion, anti-UV or anti-bacterial as well as low contact resistance or change in the surface appearance.

ALPHANOV is currently working on the upscaling of facilities enabling surface texturing and functionalization (super-hydrophobicity, anti-icing, anti fouling, anti-bacteria, drag reduction, aesthetic and optic, etc) by femtosecond laser processing. These values propositions target a wide variety of sectors including the following industries: Energy, Steel Industry, Aeronautics, Home Appliance, Anti counterfeiting, etc.
